Normally when I review candy or gum I have a pretty good idea of how to describe it. This is one of those times where I can't tell you exactly what it tastes like. I can give you a general idea of what this gum tastes like...but it is only my opinion. I wrote down many different descriptions for this gum...rainbow sherbet, Fruit Stripes Gum - only with a better flavor, and Skittles in a blender were what first popped into my head. This gum has a wonderful fruit medley flavor with what tastes like mango, pineapple, citrus, green apple and maybe some watermelon thrown in. Basically this gum will confuse and impress you all at the same time. I loved the flavor, it was probably the best of the Stride gums I've tasted. My only complaint is that this gum only lasted 10-15 minutes and the packaging says "Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum" on the inside flap. That's a bit of a stretch, but I can forgive Cadbury this one time since the gum tastes so good. I used to be a big fan of Fruit Stripes when I was a child and this gum reminded me of all those packs I'd chewed in the past but like I said, it had a better flavor. I love how candy brings about such great memories.
The one thing I can tell you for sure is that Stride has done a fantastic job with the packaging and marketing on this gum. I really liked the packaging on the Stride Berry to Mint Flavor Changing Gum which is similar in the the entire product comes together into one nice marketing package. The swirls of colors on this pack remind me of the different flavors you taste in this gum. I think the question marks on the individual gum wrappers was genius. It really adds to the whole flavor mystery of this gum.
While I'm not a huge fan of sugarfree anything, this is one gum I wouldn't mind buying. I did chew this gum 2 pieces at a time since they are smaller in size than say Hubba Bubba, so at 14 pieces a pack won't last me long. I can't say that I mind as the flavor was so good. On a side note, Stride is very popular on Facebook. They have almost 700,000 "Likes" (aka "Fans"), which is an awful lot. A lot of the comments I saw on their page were for this flavor of gum. There are lots and lots of people trying to guess what flavor it is. For me, that makes this gum even more of a success. If people will spend the time to login to Facebook, visit your page and post something, anything, then you've either created a great product or have some really good marketing, in this case, I think Stride has both.
